Dark shows are the ones directors ask about in October: haunted houses, vampires, gargoyles, the deep sea. These shows carry the dark theme, from a grade 2 vampire show for a small band to an advanced show set on the ocean floor. All of them were written for real programs and performed for a full season.
Every show here is for sale as-is, as arrangements for a build-your-own show, or as the start of a partial custom show. Pricing is quoted per program.

Shows in this collection
The Uninvited, written for New Bern High School in 2025, folds Hush Little Baby into Bernard Herrmann's Psycho, drives through Bartók's Allegro Barbaro, turns to Alanis Morissette's Uninvited for the ballad and closes on Night on Bald Mountain. Immortal, for Rock Canyon, is a vampire show for a small band: Danse Macabre, Olivia Rodrigo's Vampire and Mozart's Dies Irae. Gargoyle, for Valley View, brings Gothic stone to life with Cape Fear, Bartók's String Quartet No. 2 and Albinoni's Adagio in G Minor. Undercurrents, for Lexington, is an advanced show about pressure and depth. Apex, Strings of Fate and Spices, Perfumes & Toxins are here too.
Why dark shows score
Contrast and pacing. A dark show earns its loud moments by being quiet first, and the ballads in this collection, Uninvited and Adagio in G Minor among them, are some of the strongest we have written. Sound design does a lot of work: a sampled heartbeat, a whispered lullaby, a low synth under the ballad.
What to watch for
Dark does not have to mean difficult. Immortal is a grade 2 show. The Uninvited and Gargoyle are grade 3 to 4. Undercurrents and Spices, Perfumes & Toxins are the advanced options. Every show here has a clear story a judge can follow in one viewing, which matters more for a dark show than for a bright one.
Buying a dark show
Each show is for sale as written, as separate arrangements, or as the start of a partial custom show. Licensing goes through Tresona and is paid by the school; some film and pop pieces take longer to clear than others, and we tell you that up front. Pricing is quoted per program.
Immortal, written at grade 2 for a small band and running 6:30.
Yes. They are spooky rather than graphic, and all were performed by public high school bands at football games and contests.
Yes. Build-your-own and partial custom cover that. Uninvited and Adagio in G Minor are both available on their own.
No. When you buy a pre-written show, we keep it exclusive to you in your circuit for that season. Custom shows are always exclusive to your program.
