Shofukan
Arrangement preview
Snarky Puppy's Shofukan, arranged for marching band by Brighton Barrineau and Trevor Schachner, 2:03 at grade 3 to 4, written as a closer for the Blue Stars Drum and Bugle Corps in 2017 for a medium-sized ensemble. The tune's horn hook and its drum-and-bass groove are built for a brass section and a battery, and the arrangement keeps the band's jazz-fusion feel: a unison riff, a solo section the front ensemble can own, and a final chorus with the whole ensemble on the hook. It is the one arrangement in the catalog written for a drum corps, and it has since been adapted for marching band. Shofukan closes a jazz, funk or groove show and pairs with Tank! from Make Some Noise and Golden from In The Key of Cool. Audio of the full arrangement is on this page. Available on its own or in a build-your-own show; licensing goes through Tresona and is paid by the school.

Every arrangement here is available on its own. Combine it with arrangements from other shows, or add it to a show where we write a few new pieces for your band. Pricing depends on what you need, so we'll work it out together.
